i have read 0.2 twice. the coin mechanics are sound. i want to be
clear that i am not arguing with the coin mechanics.

my objection is the admission rule. everything in obol rests on the
witness set being made of real distinct people, and the only thing
holding that up is that we vouch for each other. we are eleven men
and women who met on a mailing list. that is not a security
assumption, it is a social club.

you have built a very careful machine on top of a door with no lock.

the door has a lock. the lock is reputation and it has worked for
every functioning institution in human history.

you are asking me to solve identity before i am allowed to solve
money. nobody will ever solve identity. that is not a design flaw,
it is the condition of the world.

useful thing anyone has said on this list.
